Presentation Description This workshop will be geared to marriage and family therapists who want to learn more about the mediation process and how it will help their clients divorce and move on to a new and better life without undue stress.
Measurable Objectives
Objectives: At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Understand what the mediation process and how to determine if their client’s are appropriate for mediation vs. marital counseling 2. List three questions that will help them qualify a client for the mediation process. 3. Understand basic parameters of various tiers of divorce negotiations including short term marriages, child custody issues, financial issues, military, and LGBTQI 4. Prepare a client for divorce mediation
Presenter Bio Rich Gordon, BA, MA. JD: has been an experienced Mediator for over thirty years. Mr. Gordon has worked in all facets of alternate dispute resolution (ADR), with both individuals and organizations. He brings a friendly approach that is conducive to cooperation. Rich Gordon also handles alternative dispute resolutions such as personal injury claims, real estate matters, commercial disputes as well as gay and lesbian divorces.
