Course Description
Gain an understanding of Sexually Transmitted Infections currently present among populations who reside in the Coachella Valley, infection rates, current treatments, resources available and how mental health professionals can support patients who are affected.
Learning Objectives
1.Gain an understanding of Sexually Transmitted Infections currently present among populations who reside in the Coachella Valley, including infection rates, current treatments available and public health concerns.
2. Learn ways that mental health professionals can support patients to gain an understanding of behaviors that can prevent transmission of Sexually Transmitted Infections.
3. Learn what resources are available in the Coachella Valley and at Desert AIDS Project for persons who are diagnosed with or suspect they may have contracted a Sexually Transmitted Infection and how mental health professionals can support their patients in seeking treatment and interventions.

Extensive training in Hepatitis C, AIDS / HIV / STDs
Certified in the California Association of DUI Treatment Program
Certification for the Social Model Study for CARR/CAS (2004)

Participated in the Advisory board that developed The Implementation Guide: "The Planning and Implementing HIV Testing and Linkage Program in a Non- Clinical Settings: A Guide for Program Managers"

This course meets the qualifications for three (3) hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Completion certificates will be awarded for full attendance of the event.
Course evaluations are required to obtain the completion certificate.
The Desert Chapter of CAMFT is approved by the California Association of Marriage Family Therapists (Provider #62275) to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs. The Desert CAMFT Chapter of CAMFT maintains responsibility for the course and its content.
The Desert Chapter refund policy allows for refunds that are requested three (3) days prior to the date of the Event.
